MetroFacil: Mobile Virtual Recharge Application for the Lima Metropolitan Transport System

The development of a mobile application for virtual recharges for the Lima metropolitan transport system is presented, likewise a test of the developed system was carried out through a survey, on the recharge time, of the Metropolitan card, which was carried out at three main stations. Then the background of other intelligent payment systems is presented, highlighting a decrease in money management costs and an improvement in the user experience. Barriers to the adoption of these systems are also identified, including delays in implementation and lack of standardization. The SCRUM is used to manage the project, which implies the integration of technologies and the collaboration between the interested parties. In conclusion, the article highlights that smart payment systems have the potential to significantly improve public transport, but a systems perspective is required for their effective and sustainable implementation. The developed system demonstrates its effectiveness by reducing the waiting time for recharging the Metropolitan card by 80%.
